WHY OZONE?
Attention, this is a scientific explanation: Ozone is also known as the second most powerful disinfectant in the world and is often called active oxygen. It destroys bacteria, viruses, germs and odors. Ozone often occurs in nature, such as lightning during a storm. This smell of "fresh, clear spring rain" after the storm comes from the natural production of ozone. For most of us, ozone is probably more prevalent in the context of the ozone layer that surrounds our planet. This ozone is formed naturally by sunlight.

WHY DOES OZONE DESTROY bacteria, fungi and viruses?
In O3 ozone, the third oxygen atom is only poorly bonded to the other two. It is therefore easily separated and combined with other substances. A weakly bound oxygen atom is released to the molecule (oxidation). As a rule, the partner molecule degrades or changes its properties in this reaction. The rest of the ozone, i.e. molecular oxygen 02, remains as normal atmospheric oxygen.
In the outer skin of bacteria or fungi (cell membrane), viruses (capsid), spores (sporoderm), as well as on the surface of many allergens (dust mites from pet dust, animal hair), many proteins (= proteins, especially large molecules) Ozone likes to react with these proteins and destroy them.
In living organisms such as bacteria, viruses or fungi, a hole is created in the outer shell. This usually leads to cell death or collapse.
